The Options
There are 5 practical options:

Do nothing||| - Doing nothing would create more congestion and pollution. Stafford already experiences congestion at town centre junctions. More|||

Yellow route||| - the Castlefields Link Road Protected Route was originally set aside plans over 20 years ago. Since then new developments have changed the landscape. It would mean knocking houses down. More|||

Blue route||| - From Castlefields through Saint Gobain site along Doxey Road, over car parks, over River Sow through the retail park to Foregate Street. It would avoid the important wildlife rich Doxey Marsh nature reserve (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) but goes very close to houses on Doxey Road. More|||

Red route||| - From Castlefields through Saint Gobain site along Doxey Road, across Doxey Marsh and the River Sow through the retail park to Foregate Street. This route would be shorter, but would cut straight across the wildlife rich Doxey Marsh nature reserve. More|||
|

|
Green route||| - From Castlefields through Saint Gobain site to the north of Doxey Road, through car parks over River Sow through retail park to Foregate Street. This route would be set away from houses on Doxey Road, and have a minimal impact on the nature reserve. This the County Council's preferred option. More|||
