Did you know?

  • Together with Lighting for Staffordshire the street lighting team are responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of over 107,000 lighting units installed on the County Council highway network.
  • In May 2003 the County Council transferred maintenance responsibility for the County's street lighting assets to the private consortium 'Lighting for Staffordshire' and their appointed service provider E.ON. This maintenance responsibility was transferred under a 25 year Private Finance Initiative contract to secure increased capital investment to remedy a rapidly deteriorating lighting stock.
  • Investment in new lighting and increased inspections has seen the number of lighting faults reduce by over a half in the past 5 years.
