- Staffordshire County Council has accepted the invitation to become the first County Council Client Partner of the scheme. The scheme is a national initiative set up by the construction industry in 1997, to improve its image.

- A new initiative called 'Ice Busters' has been launched by the County Council highways team. The initiative will support self help groups to keep locally important footways and pedestrian routes clear of snow and ice during the winter months.
