Rural Access to Services Partnership (RASP)
The Rural Access to Services Partnership is a multi agency partnership that has been established to look at rural issues in areas of Staffordshire. Advantage West Midlands are providing £1 million over three years to reduce rural isolation and improve access for people.
The key areas of work for RASP are:
- People to Services
- Services to People
- Information and use of Technology
Staffordshire County Council coordinates and manages the work of the partnership, with Staffordshire Moorlands Community and Voluntary Services (SMCVS) and the Community Council of Staffordshire as delivery partners.
Staffordshire is a large rural county. SMCVS have RASP officers to cover the 'North' which includes Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire. The Community Council of Staffordshire carries out work in Staffordshire, Stafford Borough, Cannock Chase and Lichfield.
The largest project for RASP is the 'Wheels 2 Work' scheme, which provides transport solutions for people who are looking for work, education or training. This includes travel planning, bicycle loan, subsidised bus travel, subsidised driving lessons, a vehicle repair grant and travel vouchers. If you think this service could be of use to you please complete the form at the bottom of this page and email back to lisa.baskerville@staffordshire.gov.uk
We also have small grants available to improve access to services for those living in rural areas. Community groups interested in applying for a grant (up to £1000 without match funding) can complete the form at the bottom of this page and email back to lisa.baskerville@staffordshire.gov.uk
