Safer Motorcycling

Every year thousands of people are killed or seriously injured on our roads. Motor cyclists suffer disproportionately. They represent less than 1% of road traffic, but account for around 21% of deaths and serious injuries on Staffordshires roads; they are 45 times more likely to be killed than a car driver.

The Road Safety and Sustainable Travel Unit manages a comprehensive programme of initiatives to reduce motorcycle road casualties including training schemes, events, diesel spillage campaigns and the very successful 'Ride it Right' campaign.
