Cycling safety
Many people think of cycling as dangerous, however some simple advice can make your cycling journeys easier, safer and more enjoyable.
Check it!
Before you set off on any journey do a quick ABC check. A = Air, B = Brakes and C = Chain. Simple, easy and wont take very long at all!
Light it!
Get some lights on your bike, especially now the nights and morning are alot darker. Remember to light yourself too. Wear lighter, brighter or flourescent clothing. Many cyclists cannot be seen until the last minute by drivers by making this simple mistake.
Wear it!
Helmets dont stop accidents from happening, but they can certainly protect you from serious injury. Children should especially be encouraged to wear a helmet when cycling. Get in the habit and it could save your life.
Ride it!
Get on your bike and enjoy cycling. National Cycle Routes|, off road centres and taking part in family rides or training could make your cycling experience even more enjoyable.
More people cycling, more safely, more often!
