Promoting Safer Road Use
The Road Safety & Sustainable Travel Unit is committed to making our roads safer for all road users, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, horse riders and drivers. A way to do this is by raising awareness about specific issues and changing attitudes and behaviour.
Our aim is to enpower all road users and we use the Department for Transport THINK! branding to promote road safety messages.
We use a variety of media to circulate our messages such as:
- The back of buses (including a whole bus)
- Radio Advertising
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Targeted leaflets drops
- Libraries
- Schools
We focus on a variety of issues throughout the year.
For further information please contact the Road Safety Unit:

We are doing our best to make our roads safer, but ultimately it is the road users who have the greatest impact.
