Public Transport

Using public transport instead of the car avoids parking problems and helps reduce congestion on the roads. Modern buses and trains are clean and comfortable and reliability is improving all the time. Better passenger information and improved services are making public transport a more attractive alternative. It can be cheaper to use public transport if you take into account all the costs of using a car, e.g. parking, fuel, insurance, wear and tear, servicing and depreciation. Family fares, discount tickets and group offers can mean quite a saving.

The local bus and rail companies and the Council are committed to the improvement of the quality and level of service. Joint local authority/bus operator initiatives have already been developed to upgrade various routes. More 'quality partnership' routes are planned across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.

All bus times now available from one source;
