Staffordshire County Council were awarded Centre of Excellence status in Local Transport Delivery in 2007 by the Department for Transport for the excellent work undertaken during the first Local Transport Plan (2001-2006).
On the 9th September 2008, Staffordshire County Council hosted a one-day event to pool ideas on how to improve planning and delivery of Local Transport services.
