Road safety cameras are located on Staffordshire roads where, historically, speed related vehicle collisions have resulted in personal injury to those involved.
They exist to make Staffordshire a safer place by reducing serious and fatal traffic collisions.
At present there are around 273 fixed camera sites and 4 mobile camera vans covering 101 mobile routes across the county, encouraging motorists to drive at safe speeds within the speed limit.
Locations of all sites are shown on this web site. Click here to view the area where you live, work or are visiting.
In the coming months, locations of new safety cameras will be published here as they are installed. Check the camera sites page for updates
During 2003, Staffordshire introduced 2 mobile cameras called Laztec units. These cameras are used in highly visible mobile vans on routes where there is a history of crashes and injuries. The locations of the mobile units are published on this web site and in the local media. This is to make people clear that our aim is not to raise revenue but to make roads safer by slowing motorists down. - for more information, check the mobile cameras timetable
Additional speed enforcement measures, using portable Radar or Laser equipment, are carried out by local police officers in areas where general speeding has been reported and identified as a problem. This is separate to the Partnership.
