A common misconception is that only high speed kills. In fact, even a slight increase in speed at LOW speeds can be fatal. The increase in speed from 30 to 40mph is associated with a dramatic increase in injury and death amongst pedestrians. Exceeding the speed limit is just as dangerous at low speeds as at high speeds."
(Anton van Dellen
Medical Advisor, Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.)

"Sadly I have to deal with a large number of road traffic fatalities. Excessive speed for the circumstances is frequently a significant cause. Properly placed safety cameras can reduce speed and prevent fatalities in dangerous locations".
(Andrew A Haigh
HM Coroner - Staffordshire South
)
