Walk to School Week takes place in May 2026 and as part of that campaign Staffordshire County Council are offering schools the opportunity to access and share free digital resources to help promote the campaign to your school community. The Walk to School Week Campaign has been run successfully for many years now and this year you can promote the campaign for any week in May (to avoid SATS week for example).
Your digital resources include:
- Posters
- Digital Parent/Pupil leaflets
- Digital Teacher notes
- Digital tiles for social media/newsletters/school comms
If adding to a newsletter or using school comms or social media please use this or similar messaging to communicate to parents:
“We are encouraging pupils and parents to take part in Walk to School Week this May. Walking is a healthy, active, and non-polluting way of getting to school. For those that live too far away to walk the whole distance, try parking 5-10 minutes from the school and walking the rest of the way. Your school may even have a park & stride location. Walking also promotes a less congested environment around the school gate making it safer for everyone.”
There is also an animated video to share on social media, websites and school plasma displays or assemblies.
Living Streets also have different resources that support and promote Walking to School and they can be found by clicking on the following links:-
