Opening times

There are two ongoing courses at different times for you to choose from.

09:30 to 3.30pm Tuesdays

Date period: 14/04 to 26/05

and

09:30 to 3.30pm Mondays

Date period: 01/06 to 27/07

Course content - What you will learn

As part of this course you will build on your skills and knowledge to help you in the pursuit of work or advancing your skills in order to be ready for work as well. As part of the programme you will look at your CV, transferrable skills and positive behaviours, interview techniques and much more! 

Who is the course aimed at?

For those who are actively seeking volunteering or employment roles and would like to develop their skills to help apply for positions. Learners will develop their skills and confidence to successfully apply for work and attend interviews. 

Entry requirements

Staffordshire residents aged 19+. For learners actively seeking volunteering or employment opportunities.

Learning methods - how you will learn

The trainer will deliver the course in a friendly and welcoming classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to work independently and with your classmates in a range of activities and discussions.

All session are adapted according to the individual needs of learner.

The trainer will deliver the course in a friendly and welcoming classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to work independently and with your classmates in a range of activities and discussions.

Course assessments - how you will be assessed

No formal assessments will take place. Learner’s work and interactions on the course will be informally assessed with constructive feedback provided by tutors. Whilst on the course learners will complete an Individual Learning plan recording comments, feedback and work completed. 

What can learners do next / progress onto

Throughout your course you will be provided with information and advice about other learning opportunities available to you as well as support to fnd employment or volunteering opportunities. Progression opportunities may include other Staffordshire Community Learning courses, accredited courses in areas such as maths, English or Digital available with Acorn Training or local colleges.
