Date range: 22/04 - 01/05. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Friday.

Times: 09:30am - 03:30pm

Course content - What you will learn

This course aims to enhance your overall English skills to help you access employment. You will create a CV and gain an understanding of the application process. You learn how to sell yourself at interview and develop your questioning and answer skills.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is for those who would like to develop their basic English skills to enhance their employability prospects. Learners will develop key English skills related to the world of work including writing CV's, communication in the workplace and basic written and verbal grammar. 

Entry requirements

Staffordshire residents aged 19+. Learners who would like to develop their written and spoken English skills to enhance their employability prospects.

Learning methods - how you will learn

The trainer will deliver the course in a friendly and welcoming classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to work independently and with your classmates in a range of activities and discussions.

Learning support

All session are adapted according to the individual needs of learner. 

Learning materials - what you will need to bring

All equipment required for the course will be provided by Acorn Training.

Course assessments - how you will be assessed

No formal assessments will take place. Learner’s work and interactions on the course will be informally assessed with constructive feedback provided by tutors. Whilst on the course learners will complete an Individual Learning plan recording comments, feedback and work completed. 

What can learners do next / progress onto

Throughout your course you will be provided with information and advice about other learning opportunities available to you as well as support to find employment or volunteering opportunities. Progression opportunities may include other Staffordshire Community Learning courses, accredited courses in areas such as maths, English or Digital available with Acorn Training or local colleges.
