Youngster gets chance to be 007

A lucky youngster will get the chance-of-a-lifetime to make history and feel like a film star.

The winner of an exclusive competition run by the Lichfield and Rugeley Post newspapers will be the first person to be driven along Rugeley's brand new bypass - and their ride will be in the spectacular Aston Martin V12 Vanquish featured in the James Bond film Die Another Day.

In the film the Vanquish was featured being driven in thrilling chase scenes by Piers Brosnan. The supercar was able to fire rockets and concealed guns and even featured a death-defying ejector seat.

The Aston Martin, now owned by well-known businessman, Fred Pritchard, will lead a procession of historic vehicles to mark the launch of the historic bypass on Saturday September 22.

The launch celebration will also feature live music, canal and heavy horse rides and a marquee jam-packed with crafts, gifts and local food producers and family entertainment and music - face painters, kids activities, and music from Rugeley Power Station Brass band.

Just one lucky winner will be able to feel like a star, riding in the Vanquish's passenger seat during the entire parade. The competition is open to any child aged 14 year or under.
