Cheadle by-election result announced

The results of a by-election in the Staffordshire Moorlands have been announced.

The by-election took place for the Cheadle and Checkley seat yesterday. The seat became vacant after County Councillor Ted Perry sadly passed away earlier this year.

The results were as follows:

1. Peter Elkin - Independent - 560 votes

2. Michael Maryon - Conservative - 791 votes

3. Philip Silk - Liberal Democrat - 311 votes

Michael Maryon has been elected as the new County Council member for Cheadle and Checkley.
