What's coming to Cabinet
A meeting of the County Council's Cabinet will take place at 10am on Wednesday June 20. Venue is the Oak Room, County Buildings, Stafford. Items to be discussed include:
Item 4: The County Council's Economic Regeneration Strategy
Cabinet is asked to note and approve the strategy which sets out a of blue-print on how the Council intends to build on its success in delivering new jobs, attracting new investment and creating a diverse and robust responsive and competitive business environment. It brings together complex strands of activity, and focuses on the key challenges and future opportunities.
Item 5: Outcomes of the Arts Space Feasibility Study
Cabinet are asked to consider a major feasibility study into creating a new 600 seat regional music and visual arts venue for Staffordshire estimated to create over 500,000 new visits to the Stafford area each year. The report also forecasts the impact on the regional economy and job creation prospects.
Cabinet will be asked to decide on the next phase of the project's development, subject to internal and external scrutiny.

Item 7: Lymedale West, Newcastle - development of employment site
The Cabinet will consider how the County intends to take Lymedale Business Park through to the next stage, considering the generation of jobs and building on the success of the existing scheme which has attracted considerable investment to the former coal mining site
Item 8: Renew North Staffordshire, a collaborative agreement for the regeneration of Knutton and Cross Heath
Cabinet is asked to support the multi-agency collaborative agreement for the regeneration of Knutton and Cross Heath. Final details of which have yet to be agreed
Item 9: Project management check list
Cabinet is asked to approve a checklist to used to help develop all County Council projects
Item 10: Adoption/signature of the Staffordshire Declaration (climate change)
The County Council is developing partnerships with key partners in local government and business to help deliver vital action on tackling climate change at a local level. The Staffordshire Declaration will offer partners the chance to sign up to making this happen.
Item 11: The future of library provision in Wolstanton

Item 12: Review of sub-delegation scheme
To approve proposals to modify delegated powers afforded to officers of the County Council
Item 13: Police Force structure review
Asks Cabinet to note the current position regarding the proposed restructure of policing in Staffordshire, with particular reference to the resolution adopted by Staffordshire Police Authority on June 9.
Item 14: Forward Plan
Sets out key decisions which the Cabinet expect to take over the next four months until the end of October
