Residential homes library service

We bring library services directly to people living in care homes, sheltered housing, retirement schemes and day centres.

Last updated: 25th February

We bring Staffordshire Libraries directly to people living in care homes, sheltered housing, retirement schemes and day centres.

The service supports residents who may find it difficult to visit a library, helping them stay connected, stimulated and engaged through reading, listening and shared activities.

What we offer

Large print books

Regularly refreshed large‑print fiction and non‑fiction to support readers with visual impairment.
Audiobooks & CDs.

Audio books

A wide choice of spoken‑word audiobooks and music for individual or group listening—ideal for residents who prefer audio or have sight loss, fatigue or concentration difficulties.

Picture‑style books

Image‑led books with minimal text, perfect for residents with dementia, learning disabilities or communication needs. Great for conversation and memory prompts.

Reminiscence boxes

Themed boxes filled with objects, photos and prompts designed to spark memories and support group or one‑to‑one reminiscence sessions.
