Staffordshire Arts & Museum service has a service level agreement with the New Vic and provides funding towards their Community & Education Programme.

The New Vic's mission is to create inventive, surprising, challenging, entertaining theatre-in-the-round; and to be a positive force for change in the region.

The New Vic is the regional producing theatre for Staffordshire. A 600-seater, purpose-built theatre-in-the-round, it provides a year-round programme of home-produced theatre.

With ten, major play productions a year, it presents a varied and adventurous programme that includes contemporary drama, new commissions, acclaimed opera, innovative adaptations, accessible classics as well as tours-in of music and other events. There is a vibrant relationship between audience and performer, the result of an auditorium in which the audience entirely surrounds the stage.

New Vic Borderlines The theatre engages with the communities of Staffordshire and beyond, not only through its artistic programme but also through an extensive and award-winning programmes of social engagement.

The theatre's work has been recognised by a number of national awards including the Theatre Management Association's Most Welcoming Theatre and a Clarion Award for Excellence in Communication.

The New Vic is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered educational charity. It receives financial support from Arts Council England, West Midlands, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council.
