 Iron Works
|
Iron Works 15 March - 11 May
Following the journey of ten newly commissioned pieces from concept to completion, this exhibition examines the methods, techniques and practices used in contemporary cast iron.
During Summer 2007, artists from across the UK and US gathered in Ironbridge to experience the raw power and natural beauty of one of the oldest elements in the universe, creating new work in a small, self made cupola.
|

Contemporary artists working with iron use it as a vehicle for the imagination, drawing on its natural properties and rich history. Some respond to its liquid state, others to its weight and permanence.
Featuring work by Richard Rome, Bruce Gernard, Brian Thompson, Nigel Ellis & Pam Brown (UK) and Gerry Masse, Jim Wade, Garrett Kruger, Ezra Kellerman & Walter Early (US).
