Annie is supplying us with a stunning collection of her King & Queen prints.

Rachel Llewellyn – Handmade narrative silver jewelleryRACHEL LLEWELLYN

Rachel was born in Wales and graduated from Staffordshire University in 2008 with a First Class Honours Degree in 3D Design: Crafts.  A lot of her inspiration comes from her Welsh background and childhood memories. Visits to her Gran’s house evoke special memories, “I would marvel at the precious objects she kept stashed away in her sideboard and old wooden dresser, play with the glass perfume bottles on her dressing table, and listen to the conversations she and my mother would have over a long cup of tea”

Rachel’s work explores the notion of 'preciousness'. By miniaturizing ordinary objects and hand fabricating them in precious metals, they become unexpectedly sacred. Each carefully crafted item speaks of nostalgia, cultural identity, memories of work and play, stories of peoples' lives both past and present. Rachel’s’ aim is to make objects with a human connection that will be worn or used everyday; timeless objects for people to treasure.

Martha Mitchell – Illustrated ceramic tablewareMARTHA-MITCHELL

Martha Designs and creates homewares all based around her own intricate fine line illustrations, these include popular Brighton and London landmarks as well as food packaging. Her products range from tea towels and aprons to cake stands, bowls, and egg cups.

Since graduating from University two years ago Martha has set up a studio in Hove where she continues to design and make her products.

Layla Amber – Illustrative jewelleryLAYLA AMBER

Layla Amber graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts in 2010 with a BA Hons in Graphic Design.

Layla’s objectives have always been simple, to create fun and wearable pieces of jewellery from her finely detailed illustrations. Layla works mainly in plastic, a material that allows her illustrations to retain their intricacy and vibrancy in a miniature format.

The Suffolk countryside and seaside town of Southwold in which Layla grew up has been a big source of inspiration for her work. She loves nature, wildlife and all things quintessentially British. Layla has stocked us for a while, but we’re pleased to be having a selection of new work from her tea time collection, which features some well known British biscuits, vintage teacups and bunting - all essentials for a tea party!

Sally Nancini – Interior textilesSALLY NENCINI

Sally is originally from County Armagh, Northern Ireland; now based in London, she studied MA Fashion at the Royal College of Art and has designed for many large retailers, including Levi's and M&S.

Since bringing up a young family, her long-held interest in handworked craft, surface pattern and vintage textiles has come to the fore.

She designs and makes machine-knitted toys, blankets and cushions using soft lambswool. Her love of vintage toys — especially the imagery and colours of early Galt and Abbatt wooden puzzles and picture
card games — is a predominant influence in her work.

As always we have a stunning collection of new greeting cards, gift wrap and stationary. We still have lots of other wonderfully new and handmade British craft from as little as £2. So whether it’s a celebratory street party or a picnic in the park, we’re positively sure to brighten up your jubilations with this tremendous collection of handmade British craft.
