What is YTF?

Staffordshire's Young Teen Fiction Book Award is aimed at KS3 pupils, age 11 - 14, who live or go to school in Staffordshire, or who use Staffordshire Library Services. It is an opportunity for young people to read an assortment of fiction and nominate titles they have enjoyed.

 The award aims to:

  • promote and celebrate reading for pleasure
  • support achievement in KS3 through reading for pleasure
  • raise awareness of contemporary teenage fiction
  • value young people's reading choices
  • develop confidence and self esteem in young people

The books need to be:

  • written in English
  • fiction written for young teenagers (age 11 - 14 years)
  • published for the first time in the UK during the calendar year 2011

Nominations and votes are only accepted from young people - this award belongs to them! Please encourage them to take part.
