What is YTF?

Staffordshire's Young Teen Fiction Book Award is aimed at KS3 pupils, age 11 - 14, who live or go to school in Staffordshire, or who use Staffordshire Library Services. It is an opportunity for young people to read an assortment of fiction and nominate titles they have enjoyed.

Nominations and votes are only accepted from young people - this award belongs to them! Please encourage them to take part.

How schools can support YTF 2013

The top six nominated titles have formed the shortlist so we have now reached the voting stage of the award -

  • Get your KS3 students reading the shortlisted titles
  • Make sure your students vote for the book they want to win YTF 2013
  • Encourage the use of public libraries and the Schools' Library Service to help maximise available resources

Promotional posters and bookmarks| are available to download from this website, including the new shortlist poster. Please use these resources to encourage your students to take part in the award and to vote for the book they think should win YTF 2013.

Schools that registered their participation in YTF 2013 will shortly receive printed posters to promote the shortlist. Registered schools will also receive an invitation to YTF 2013 Celebration Day| by email when they return from the Easter holiday - remember to look out for it!
