Unearth your roots at Lichfield Library
People love to find out about their ancestors as it appeals to the curious side of human nature. Because of this, there is a growing popularity in genealogy, but many people don't know where to start.
The six week course at Lichfield Library, starting on Thursday 5th June, 10:00am - 12 noon, is designed to help by giving people the skills to carry out their own family history research.
Maureen Compton, County Councillor and Cabinet Support Member for Cultural Services said: "Tracing a family tree can be a rollercoaster. You think you are flying and then in the next moment, you grind to an abrupt halt!"
She continued: "Libraries across Staffordshire have access to a wide range of resources that can help those researching their family history. The course at Rugeley promises to be a source of guidance and advice for many local family history researchers."
No previous experience of family history research is needed to take part in the course.
The course includes one, two-hour session a week for six weeks (Thursday 5th June - Thursday 10th July inclusive), and costs ₤12 per person, which is payable in full at the first session. Library concessions are free.
