British Trust of Conservation Volunteers - the BTCV vision is to help create a better environment where people are valued, included and involved, and it wants to create a more sustainable future by inspiring people and improving places.
DEFRA - Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The overarching challenge for Defra is to enable everyone to live within their environmental means.
Environment Agency - "We are the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. European Environment Agency - The EEA aims to support sustainable development and to help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe's environment through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy making agents and the public.
Natural England - Natural England will work for people, places and nature, to enhance biodiversity, landscapes and wildlife in rural, urban, coastal and marine areas; promoting access, recreation and public well-being, and contributing to the way natural resources are managed so that they can be enjoyed now and in the future.
Natural Environment Research Council - NERC funds world-class science in universities and their own research centres (including the British Antarctic Survey and British Geological Survey) that increases knowledge and understanding of the natural world.
