British Standards Online - locate British, European and International standards using British Standards Online. It is updated daily, offering a wealth of information in a wide range of fields. This service can be accessed free at all Staffordshire Libraries.
Business Link - the government-funded Small Business Service.
Companies House - click on 'Company Information' for details of companies (NB: not available 24 hours a day). The site also has a 'Directory of Disqualified Directors'.
FT.com - business news, stocks & shares information, and access to country and industry surveys from the Financial Times.
Internet Business Manager - a 'teach-yourself' tutorial on Internet information skills for those managing businesses. Part of a wide range of subject-specific tutorials from the 'Intute' Virtual Training Suite.
Kompass - international manufacturing and production directories. Some information is only available for a fee.
Market Research Monitor - an online subscription service which offers over 2,200 top-line market research reports on international consumer, industrial and service markets. Reports offer up to date market size data, company shares, brand shares and forecasts. This is currently available free at Shire Hall Library, Stafford. Ask a member of staff for details.
