Libraries - Information Services

Information Services are available through all of Staffordshire's 43 libraries and 10 mobile and 2 travelling libraries. The resources available include books, maps, newspapers, magazines, microfilms, CD-ROMs, online databases, and the Internet. In addition, Shire Hall Library in Stafford has access to a comprehensive range of Government publications, such as Parliamentary papers, reports, and statistics.

Staffordshire Libraries' Information Services answer almost half a million enquiries each year, on various subjects. These enquiries are made by members of the public, local authorities, companies, and the voluntary sector.

You don't have to be a library member to use our Services: just call in, or contact us by email, phone, or post.

Computer access

Access to computers and the Internet is available in all public libraries around the county: we have over 500 computers for customers and visitors to use. Please check our libraries map to find details of your nearest library, and the opening times.

Online resources

The Staffordshire Gateway is a collection of useful Website links, chosen and maintained by library staff. Most websites are easy to access, however some of our free online subscription services will ask you to type in your library membership number and PIN.

Family and Local history resources

Larger libraries have collections that may be useful to you in your research: find your nearest library and see which resources are available. There is also a list of useful related websites on the Staffordshire Gateway
