Hundred's of school children and families will be visiting libraries in East Staffordshire during October to be inspired and entertained by authors, poets, illustrators and storytellers as part of a children's book festival.

Events will take place at Burton, Barton and Uttoxeter Libraries throughout October. The festival will be begin on Friday October 3rd when best selling author Narinder Dhami visits Burton Library to talk to classes of local school children. Narinder wrote the book which led to the hit film Bend it Like Beckham.

County Councillor and Cabinet Support Member for Cultural Services, Maureen Compton, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for children to meet the authors and illustrators of some of their favourite books. They will also get the chance to work with slam poets, learn how to make and illustrate books and be enthralled by some of the top storytellers in the UK. "
