SRO Saturday Service Nov 2011
Information about the Saturday Service at Staffordshire Record Office
Staffordshire County Council is committed to making savings and efficiencies which allow us to continue to provide valued provide frontline services within the available budget. The Archive Service has looked at ways to reduce the overall running cost of the service whilst maintaining quality and customer service. In line with this commitment, we will be making some changes to the Saturday service offered by the Staffordshire Record Office from 26 November 2011.
Opening hours
The opening hours on Saturday will remain as 9.00am – 1.00pm and we would continue to strongly recommend booking an appointment in advance.
Production of documents
Please order documents in advance of your visit (wherever possible on the previous day or earlier) to assist us with the smooth running of the service. It may not be possible to produce documents on demand on the day of your visit if staff are busy dealing with other customers.
In addition there will be no production of documents between 10.30 and 11.00. Following our normal pattern, production of documents will cease at 12.30 to allow staff to secure the strongrooms.
I would ask you to bear with the staff during the change over to this system as we continue to maintain our Saturday service.
If you would like to comment on the changes please write to:
