Sulyard horse remedies 18th cent

Amongst the family personal papers for the mid-18th century were a number of remedies for treating sick horses. The following example is 'a remedy or cure for hideboundness in horses', which is a drink made of cumin, aniseed, liquorice, brimstone, oil of roses and ale.
