It is responsible for ensuring that children and young people are healthy and safe in order that they are able to enjoy, achieve and make a positive contribution to the communities in which they live. The directorate is made up of 10 Divisions working together in the belief that everybody has the right to develop their potential and talents by access to learning, information, culture and heritage.
