Transport

The County's excellent road, rail and air connections offer easy accessibility to major cities like Birmingham and Manchester. Inter-city train services run to almost every major city, with London being just 90 minutes away. Bus services form the major public transport system in-county, with a comprehensive network of services operating in and around the main urban centres.

Staffordshire County Council has produced its own Travel Plan - 'Greening Our Journeys' to encourage staff to use alternative modes of transport. We know that your travel requirements can vary from day to day, so a range of incentives are offered and you are encouraged to 'pick and mix' between different forms of transport where you can. We organise a centralised car-sharing scheme and can put you in touch with people who would like to car-share on a regular or occasional basis.
