Step up to Social Work

Want a job where you can make a difference?

Social work with children and families is a challenging but rewarding way to make a real difference to people’s lives.

Being confronted with other people’s problems isn’t for everyone. It takes a special kind of person to be a social worker and you’ll need the right professional training to help you get there. If you believe that you can make the difference in a child’s life, social work with children, young people and families could be for you.

If you have a 2:1 degree, have experience of working with children, young people and families and can demonstrate maturity and emotional resilience, you could train to be a social worker in as little as 18 months. You’ll also benefit from around £15,000 to support you through your studies.

Staffordshire County Council are working with the Children's Workforce Development Council to support at least 5 placements within the authority on the Step up to Social Work programme.

To find out more and to apply see the attached leaflet  Step up to Social Work| (534 kb).

The closing date for applications is 29 August 2011.
