Since the launch of Open Door over 150 placement opportunities have been carried out including placements in cleaning, waste management, highways planning, admin, customer service, grounds maintenance, catering and many more. These have been across the County Councils Directorates and Districts and also external private companies such as Ideal Standard and Staffordshire Newsletter.
30 of these placements have led directly to paid employment of the candidates within the council and the private sector. Plans are now in place to establish positions within the council that following a work placement can lead to paid employment. Some of the areas currently supporting this initiative are cleaning services.
