Apprenticeships

Staffordshire County Council is committed to supporting Apprenticeships, and is well-positioned to be able to offer them against the work areas of Administration, Information Technology, Customer Service, Teaching Assistants and Children's Care Learning and Development.

There are two levels - Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships, both leading to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), Key Skills qualifications, and Technical Certificates which confirm knowledge and understanding relative to actual jobs.  Apprenticeships are aimed primarily at young people between the ages of 16-18, who, with support and training, can develop their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding to Level 2.

Advanced Apprenticeships are aimed primarily at those in the 18-24 age range, who are at Level 2 competency and have the ability to develop quickly in their jobs, with a view to progressing their career to supervisory or technician level status. Advanced Apprentices would achieve Level 3 competency.
