About the Council
Staffordshire County Council serves a population of around 800,000, delivering a wide range of vital services to all the communities that make up our county - 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are at the heart of daily life, providing services that touch everyone - from the flow of traffic on the county's roads to the quality of our schools, from officiating at marriages to supporting older people in their own homes.
It takes a large and diverse team to enable us to succeed in our aim of making Staffordshire a great place in which to live and work. We are the county's largest employer with a team of more than 30,000 staff equipped with a wide variety of individual skills and abilities. Everyone is a vital member of the team, whatever their role, and we are actively committed to equality and diversity, ensuring that employment and services are fully accessible to all.
Our organisation is composed of four Directorates - Chief Executive's Office, Social Care & Health, Children & Lifelong Learning, and Development Services. For a potential employee, there are hundreds of different career options on offer and you will find we are dedicated to your development and individual success within our team framework. We want you to achieve all you are capable of while enjoying a good work/life balance. People really are the heart of our organisation and it's people who make all the difference.
We never forget that the focus of our activities and organisation are the communities of Staffordshire. To this end, we are currently undergoing exciting organisational change to modernise the way we work, and to ensure that we are efficiently and effectively delivering first-class services within a changing county.
Our Vision for the people of Staffordshire is:
"To make Staffordshire a great place to live, work, visit and invest."
