Supporting People Objectives
- Delivering quality of life and promoting independence
- Providing strategically planned services that are of a high standard, cost effective and that compliment other support and care services
- Planning and developing services that are needs-led
- Working in partnership with local government, probation, health, voluntary sector organisations, housing associations, support agencies and service users

Who is involved in decision making in the delivery of the Supporting People Programme in Staffordshire?
The Supporting People Commissioning Body
This Body is made up of Officers from the organisations within the Supporting People partnership. The role of the Commissioning Body is to make sure services are monitored and reviewed in accordance with the Community and Local Government (CLG) and Audit Commission framework for the Supporting People programme. It ensures that they commission new services which are strategically relevant and in accordance with the emerging needs of service users in Staffordshire. This group meets quarterly.
The Officer's Board
This group consists of strategic heads from each of the District & Borough Councils, Commissioners from Health and the Probation Service.
The representatives on this group plan and support research into the needs of vulnerable people. They also develop proposals for the commissioning of services, and ensure that there is strategic integration of a wide range of accommodation / housing strategies and plans across the County. This group meets quarterly.
