Healthy Communities
The health and well being of communities is influenced by many factors. This can include whether there are facilities to enable people to exercise and have access to green and open space, whether the local environment is safe and clean, whether people live in homes which are warm and properly maintained and whether they have sufficient income to make healthy lifestyle choices.
This series of pages provides information on the County Council's Health Strategy and the health of the population of Staffordshire.

- Lucy Gratton - Community Food Adviser
- Amanda Farrell - Principal Trading Standards Officer (Food)
The Health Development Team provides advice and guidance on nutrition, health advice for the vulnerable in our care and within the local communities.
- Lead on the design and development of health and wellbeing programmes
- Support and Develop Public Health Partnership Arrangements
- Research and Evaluation
- Bid for External Funding
- Community Development for Health and Wellbeing
- Provide advice and guidance on nutrition and health advice fro the Vulnerable in Our Care and in Local Communities
- Provide health advice and information to the Council and partners
- Co-ordinate Meals on Wheels
The Health Development Team work is shaped through partnership working and National and Local Policy Drivers, e.g. Changing Lives.
Providing evidence of need, e.g. Older people's Listening Events and evidence of effectiveness e.g. use in NICE guidance.
Establishing good practice and sharing and influencing others, e.g. Healthy Eating Awards.
