What we offer
Record of Disabled Children
All Local Authorities must keep a record of disabled children for planning purposes in order to predict future need. You will have to give your consent for your child's name to be held on the record and entry on the record is voluntary.
Any information about a child on the record is completely confidential and only two professionals have access to it.
If you would like your child's details to go on Staffordshire's Record of Disabled Children please telephone the G8way team on freephone 0800 093 0414, leaving your name, address and telephone number and we'll send you a pack as soon as we can. You can also download a pack by clicking on the links below:

Blue Badge Parking Scheme
This is a national arrangement of parking concessions for children with restricted mobility or who need constant supervision and assistance when out. The scheme also applies to registered blind people. It allows badge holders to park close to their destination, but the national concessions apply only to on-street parking.

Transition
The move from school into adult life is referred to as transition.
This is an exciting but sometimes frightening experience for young people with special educational needs or learning disabilities.
Our planning process for your child will start when they are in year 9.
It is important that young people and their families are involved in decisions about their future and are fully supported by professionals throughout the process.
