Emotional Support
There are two carers associations in Staffordshire that provide information, support, advice and activities.
You can receive emotional support over the phone, through home visits, via publications and at events.
The North Staffordshire Carers Association (NSCA) covers: Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands. Tel. 01782 834 836.
The Carers Association Southern Staffordshire (CASS) covers: Tamworth, Lichfield, Stafford, East Staffordshire, Cannock and South Staffordshire. Tell. 01785 606675.
As well as outreach workers, CASS has specialist services for those of you who care for people with mental health problems, progressive neurological conditions and for people going through the hospital system.
There is also a Carers Break Fund that is administered by the Carers Association Southern Staffordshire on behalf of the County Council. Grants of up to £200 can be given to Carers who fulfil the criteria. If you think you might qualify contact CASS for an application form on 01785 606675.
