How can you help the Environment?

Your efforts to segregate the organic materials from any other general waste is important because it will determine whether the material is composted or sent to landfill.

There are designated Organic Green Waste Containers at all of the recycling centres where materials such as grass cuttings, plant and tree prunings, hedge clippings, shrubs and bushes which are suitable for composting can be deposited.

Bagged organic materials should be emptied out into the organic green waste skips and empty sacks, not being re-used, can be deposited in the adjacent "Bag Bins" or in the general waste skips.

When depositing these materials, please make sure that there are no bags, stones, bricks, rubble, clods of soil or turf, wooden fencing or plastics (e.g. plant pots, sacks... etc) which could contaminate the whole load.
