Rights of Way Improvement Plan
The Rights of Way Improvement Plan has been developed to make the best use of Rights of Way throughout Staffordshire and proposes to provide better and easier Public Access in areas of scenic interest and growing population.
With the passage of time, the needs of people using paths change. This Plan hopes to foresee many of the changes and adapt the Rights of Way Network to take these into account.
It is envisaged that, in heavily populated areas there will be increased use of Public Paths with leisure and health walks and consequent demands on the condition and accessibility of the network.
Whilst the County Council, as Highway Authority, has been given the powers to develop and implement the plan, it cannot do it alone.
It is vital that partnerships with other agencies, including local communities and user groups, are included in the delivery of the Improvement Plan.
