Local Access Forum

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 requires local highway authorities to set up a '' Local Access Forum'' to advise local authorities and the Countryside Agency on how to put the new legislation into effect.

The Joint Local Access Forum, which covers all of Staffordshire except those areas within the Peak District National Park|||. It includes the Cities of Stoke on Trent and Wolverhampton and consists of 18 members drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and varied interests including walking, cycling, horseriding, conservation and wildlife, as well as farming, rural business and disabled access. The Secretary to the Joint Local Access Forum is Jonathan Lindop who can be contacted on (01785) 276147 or email jonathan.lindop@staffordshire.gov.uk|. Alternatively you can write to the Secretary at Law and Democracy , Staffordshire County Council, County Buildings, Martin Street, Stafford, ST16 2LH.  

The Forum are currently seeking new Members. If you would like to become a Member please contact the Secretary for further details.
