Hanbury Walks

The Fauld Crater, east of Hanbury in East Staffordshire, is the scene of the biggest explosion in the United Kingdom. Starting from the Cock Inn at Hanbury, the first of these three walks, the Red Walk takes you one and a half miles (approximately three quarters of an hour) to the actual crater left by the explosion.

The Green Walk, at about six and a quarter miles in length, will take you about three hours to complete. The route takes you to Tutbury Castle and on to Castle Hayes Park Farm, an area that was formerly a medieval Deer Park, one of eight associated with the Castle.

The Blue Walk is approximately three and a half miles long and will take about one and a half hours to complete. The route takes you to the heart of Hanbury and beyond to Draycott in the Clay.
