Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent and Wolverhampton Local Access Forum

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 requires local highway authorities to set up a '' Local Access Forum'' to advise local authorities and the Countryside Agency on how to put the new legislation into effect.

The Joint Local Access Forum, which covers all of Staffordshire except those areas within the Peak District National Park, the City of Stoke on Trent and Wolverhampton, consists of 22 members drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and varied interests including walking, cycling, horseriding, conservation and wildlife, as well as farming, rural business and disabled access. The Forum meets several times a year and these meetings are open to the public. A wide variety of topics will be discussed including:- Open Access mapping (so called 'Right to Roam') and Rights of Way Improvement Plans.
