History of the Partnership
|
The Green Arc Partnership was formed back in 1999 when the Countryside Agency commissioned a feasibility study to examine the likely effects on the surrounding countryside and landscapes of the construction zone for the Birmingham Northern Relief Road.
The main aims of the Partnership were to minimise the adverse effects of development within the area, particularly as a result of the M6 Toll road. It helped to provide opportunities for the people of the West Midlands conurbation and surrounding towns and villages to use, enjoy, and to sustain their open countryside. |
