
Regulation - Making a Complaint
Please let us know if you feel that someone is carrying out mineral or waste activities without the benefit of planning permission, or to raise concerns about the operation of a quarry or waste site. Waste activities can include the disposal of soils and rubble.
If your concerns relate to any other planning issue that do not contain an element of mineral or waste activity, and may require planning regulation or enforcement investigation, it may be that your Borough/District Council would like to here from you.

There are a number of ways to report your complaint to us. We recommend that you put your complaint in writing so that we can keep you informed of progress and ask you for more information if we need it. Unless you agree to it we will not reveal your identity while we investigate the complaint.

Details we need to know
Please provide the following information when you make a complaint:
- what the complaint is about
- the address or location of the premises or land being reported
- the date you first noticed the problem
- any information about who owns the premises or land being reported
- your name, address, phone number and e-mail address
- any other information that may help us.
Please provide your name and address when you complain. This will help us ensure that complaints we receive are genuine and allows us to keep you informed of progress. Remember, unless you agree to it we will not reveal your identity while we investigate the complaint.
How we deal with Complaints
Complaints about the operation of minerals and waste sites will be treated in line with our Statement of Monitoring and Enforcement Policy. Where necessary, enforcement action may be taken to remedy breaches of planning control in accordance with the
Statement of Monitoring and Enforcement Policy - December 2003.
