Notification and Publicity
We publicise all planning applications we receive and notify the neighbours in case they wish to comment.
Notification & Publicity
4.4.11 In addition to consulting various specialist interest groups and organisations, we will publicise all planning applications that are received and notify any local residents who may be directly affected by these proposals.
4.4.12 In publicising valid planning applications we will;
- erect a site notice/s on the boundary of the application site;
- place an advertisement in the local newspaper when;
- the application is a 'major' development;
- the application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement;
- the proposal is a departure from the Development Plan;
- the proposal affects a Public Right of Way, affects the setting of a Listed Building or affects the character or appearance of a Conservation Area;
- publish a 'weekly list' of planning applications received on our website;
- notify all identified neighbours likely to be directly affected by the proposals
4.4.13 All neighbours notified on a planning application will be sent a letter within 5 working days of the planning application being validated. This letter will specify the planning application number, what development is being proposed, where the application can be inspected and contact details of the Case Officer dealing with the application. All those notified will be given 21 days to respond or make any comments on the application or where any material changes to the proposals take place a further 14 days in which to respond or make additional comments.
