Evaluation / Assessment
We assess all applications against the relevant policies in the 'development plan' and any other material considerations.
Evaluation / Assessment
4.4.14 A case officer starts the process of evaluation/ assessment as soon as any consultations have been sent out. The case officer will visit the site and consider the proposals against the relevant policies in the 'development plan'.
4.4.15 We will keep the applicant/agents informed on the progress of the planning application by providing copies of consultation responses. If further information is required to support or clarify the proposals then we will only ask for information that is necessary in order to determine the planning application.
4.4.16 Any representations received from consultees will be passed promptly on to applicants. It will be for the applicants to address those representations within an agreed time-scale. Where further or additional information has been received from an applicant in direct response to earlier comments raised by consultees, this information will be forwarded onto relevant consultees for them to make further comments within an agreed timescale.
4.4.17 We want to see quality outcomes and to avoid planning appeals. Where there is little prospect of officer support for a particular proposal because of material planning objections, we will request that a proposal be withdrawn. It will be for the applicant to decide how to proceed, but we expect that decision to be taken promptly to reduce the potential for delay.
