Integrated Youth Support Service
We want all people who work for the county council to support Staffordshire's teenagers to work together as one service.
The purpose of this integration is to work better together to transform the life chances of Staffordshire's teenagers. We believe that one workforce, delivering one service will maximise resources and the positive difference we can make to young people's lives.
To achieve this aim, we need a single, strong management team, so we're in the process of putting one together. This should be in place in the first part of 2010.
The new management team will form the solid foundation vital for us to build the new Integrated Youth Support Service and will allow us to re-focus staffing resource at frontline service delivery.
What will the new service mean for Staffordshire's teenagers?
-
There will be 'no wrong door'
A teenager needing something to do, somewhere to go or someone to talk to, will be able to speak to anyone who works for the Integrated Youth Support Service and they'll be able to help. There will be no need to contact different people in different services and so no need for repetition or confusion.
-
More money for the things that matter to young people
A single, streamlined management team means more money to spend on the things that matter to young people - frontline services and activities.
How have young people been involved?
Over the last two years we've spoken to a lot of young people to find out what they think about the county council services that support teenagers. What they have told us has informed our plans for Staffordshire's Integrated Youth Support Service and will make sure that the service gives young people the support they need.
