Welcome to Staffordshire's Youth Service web-site. The site illustrates that the Youth Service is here to serve young people in Staffordshire and treasures the relationships that are forged with young people. They choose us, on their terms and stay for as long as they want to.
The Service's Vision Statement
"Inspiring young people to realise their potential as positive members of society".
An introduction to the Service
Staffordshire Youth Service is a partnership between young people, the County Council and the voluntary sector. It works with the Staffordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services to provide high quality services for young people across the county.
Whatever the background, culture or circumstance the Service is there to help young people see that they are unique and with support and opportunity can make informed decisions and take responsibility for their lives.
Most of all the Service is also about having fun, providing places for young people to meet, 'chill', try out new things, develop new skills and take 'time out' from their hectic lives.
Skilled Youth Workers
Trained youth workers meet young people where they are, be it on the streets, in schools, on the mobile units or in youth centres and youth clubs. These adults, who enjoy young people's company, believe and value every young person's participation and when needed, can offer support and direction.
The Service
The County council has a Youth Charter written by young people which lays out how the Youth Service is run. Every policy decision made, each person recruited, each event the Service runs involves young people.
Young people are not merely tomorrow's future, they are an integral vibrant energy that breathes spirit into communities and everyone in the Staffordshire Youth Service is privileged in sharing young people's journey towards adulthood.
